Wow! I can say I'm proud of how my presentation went this morning!
I am so fortunate to have had the help and support of Meagan! She was key for me to be able to do a great presentation. Together we set up and she was always one step ahead of me with anything I needed.
The day started really early. I wanted to be there at 7 to set up. When I arrived, the room was set up for a different presentation with probably 100 or more chairs in neat rows in front of a screen.... Not what I needed. So I went and asked for some help and a group of wonderful USF Physical Education students came to the rescue.
They not only helped me move the chairs, but were also wonderful and enthusiastic participants during my presentation.
Slowly the room filled up! I believe I had between 70 and 90 participants. Wow! The atendees were also great and participated in all the activities I had prepared for them. I got great feedback from the atendees. I was walking on air when it was over! All participants received a slip of paper with this website address so they could have access to the handout.
I was able to buy a couple of books from Artie Kamiya, and a bag full of octopi! I also registered Garden Grove for the USTA Tennis program and we will be receiving raquets and balls soon. This means I will postpone the beginning of the tennis unit until I get them so I can have more students with raquets. We will begin the soccer unit next week (together with the last of the Fitnessgram tests).
Still having problems uploading the information from the handheld to the laptop... I need to get it solved next week!
Til the next one!
